Contemporary Art for the Introspective Generation

Semicolon

Price range: £1,000.00 through £6,000.00

Semicolon is a meditation on a single mark’s profound duality. Rendered as a vibrant constellation, it is both a statement of resilience and a fundamental query. In English, it is the pause — the author’s choice to continue. In Greek, it is the erotimatiko (ερωτιματικό): the question mark. This piece embodies the Socratic question: “What sort of person should I be?” It holds the tension between survival and transformation, asking us not what we do, but who we are choosing to become. It is a quiet space for introspection, a testament to the fact that to continue is to question.

Description

SEMICOLON

This piece is not a statement. It is an interrogation.

Semicolon is for the introspective; for those who understand that life is lived in the space between the breath and the thought. It speaks to the resilience required to continue, and the courage required to ask why.

The story behind

The story behind this piece is The Semicolon; The Question. It explores the symbol’s profound double meaning. In English, it is a pause — a mark of continuation and resilience, championed by the modern mental health movement. In my native Greek, however, the symbol is the erotimatiko (ερωτιματικό): the question mark. This artwork bridges these two worlds, linking the strength to continue with the Socratic inquiry at the heart of my practice: “What sort of person should I be?”
